Numeria

Math class, played as a campaign.

Numeria is a set of eleven classroom math games that share one leaderboard, plus four hands-on labs: the Proportion Lab, the Unit Rate Lab, the Scale Factor Lab and the Coordinate Plane Lab. Students earn XP and Gold for every problem they solve. You choose the topics, add your own questions, and every game comes with ready-to-teach resources.

Built for a real classroom

Numeria came out of a middle school math classroom. It runs in any browser, on Chromebooks and on the projector, with nothing to install.

No student accounts

You print a login card for each student with a code and a QR code. No student emails, no passwords, and only first names or nicknames.

Your topics, your questions

Built-in questions follow the NC Standard Course of Study. Upload your own question banks from a spreadsheet to use any subject or state standards.

One leaderboard all year

XP and Gold from every game land on one class leaderboard. Rank by quarter or by year, and save each quarter's top 10 to a Hall of Fame.

Teaching resources come with your membership

Every game has its own shelf of resources in the Teacher Portal, ready for Monday. Open any of them, or make your own fully editable copy in Google Drive and change whatever you like.

Add your own links next to ours, and choose which ones students see. Shared links appear under the game on the student hub.

  • Slide decksTo introduce each game and the math behind it.
  • Teacher guidesHow the game plays, how to run it, and what to watch for.
  • Lesson activitiesWarm-ups, handouts and exit tickets that pair with the game.
  • Video tutorialsShort walk-throughs for you and for students.

The games

Some games are played solo at a student's own pace. Others run on the projector for the whole class. Click a screen to see it larger.

A look inside

One Teacher Portal runs every class, and one leaderboard ties every game together. These screens show sample students.

Students build their own character

The XP and Gold students earn in every game go into one character that's theirs all year. The shop is more math in disguise.

  • Buy gear and battle potions with the Gold they've earned.
  • Forge armor and weapons by solving ratio and proportion problems.
  • Cook healing potions by scaling recipes with fractions and percents.
  • Repair gear as it wears down in battle, so Gold keeps meaning something.

Everything they own goes with them into Arena duels and class Raids.

It grows all year, and it fits your course

Numeria is designed around middle school math, but the math is yours to change.

New games and resources all year

Numeria keeps adding games, story chapters and teaching resources through the school year. Members get new additions as they're released.

Your own content and curriculum

Upload question banks for any course, unit or state standards, and pick which ones each game uses. Rename games and headings to match your class theme.
